New Resource for NH’s Modernist Architecture

The New Haven Preservation Trust debuted a beautiful new website last week showcasing New Haven’s excellent inventory of modernist buildings. Between 1940 and 1970, architects including Marcel Breuer, Philip Johnson, and Paul Rudolph designed many superb examples of the “mid-century modern” style, many associate with Mayor Dick Lee’s urban renewal projects. New Haven’s neighborhoods and the city’s urban landscape were fundamentally transformed by these buildings, and they continue to influence planning practices around our city and university.
